Land Acknowledgment:
We, at the Calgary Doula Association (CDA), acknowledge the historical role of Indigenous women in birthing practices and the collective responsibility of communities in supporting birthing. We recognize the traditional territories of the Indigenous peoples of Treaty 7, the Métis Settlements, and Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3, where we gather today. We honor the histories, cultures, and languages of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples whose presence continues to enrich our community. This acknowledgment is an act of reconciliation and gratitude for the land we occupy.
