You are meant to be supported through big events in your life. Birth will change you, that is certain.
I hope that change is beautifully honest and empowering for you.
I am a DONA certified birth doula and a certified lactation educator supporting families since 2009. My region includes (but is not limited to) Calgary, High River, and Okotoks. I support in hospital settings, at home births, and the birthing centre. My experience includes unmedicated births, vaginal births after cesarean (VBAC), augmented labours, labours with epidurals, water births, precipitous births, emergent and planned cesareans. I have experience with supporting women with increased risk factors.
Little Origin Birth Services was born out of the experience I had with my own births. Now almost ten years later I still love supporting and encouraging others in their own journey of self discovery. That families invite me into their most vulnerable space is a privilege I am grateful for and I would be honoured to be a part of your birth and breastfeeding journey. Supporting you through your learning during pregnancy and guiding you through labour with my knowledge, experience and quiet calm is my strength. I believe that to be a doula is to listen with ones heart and hold compassion for the rawness of birth, to support with my whole being.
I am mother of five wonderful children who were born at home with midwives. I enjoy being outdoors in our vast and beautiful Alberta, gardening and building our backyard oasis, rowing on the Glenmore Reservoir and reading a good book with a giant cup of coffee.
I would love to meet and talk about where you are in your journey and how I can best support you.
